Big Give Week Starts Today — One Week. One Chance. Twice the Impact.

“I learned to be courageous. I lost my fear.”
— Mary, student in Awamu’s education programme

Mary’s words stay with us. Courage grows when a girl feels safe, supported and back in school — surrounded by people who believe in her potential.

And this week, you can help another girl feel the same way.

Your donation doubled

We want to be honest with you:

We can’t keep 250 girls in school next year without this match.

More girls are coming to us after facing challenges no child should carry alone — unsafe homes, pressure to work instead of learn and long stretches out of school. These are not failures of families or individuals.
They are the structural barriers girls face every day.

Your support is what helps remove those barriers — giving girls the chance to learn, feel safe and imagine their futures again.

From today until 9 December, every donation is DOUBLED

A generous anonymous donor - who believes deeply in the power of our education programme — is matching every gift to Awamu’s Big Give appeal.

That means:

£10 becomes £20
School essentials and period products so a girl can attend class with dignity.

£35 becomes £70
A full uniform, shoes, bag, sweater and textbooks — everything she needs to return to school.

£65 becomes £130
A full term of school fees, with ongoing support from a caring mentor.

£250 becomes £500
A whole year of education, mentoring, counselling, healthcare and family strengthening — the full wraparound care that keeps a girl safe and in school.

All of this, at no extra cost to you.

Why education matters so deeply for girls in Kampala

For the girls we work with, school is far more than lessons. It is:

💛 a place to feel safe
💛 a community of friends and mentors who support and encourage each other
💛 adults who listen, counsel and guide
💛 a space to rebuild confidence
💛 protection from violence and exploitation
💛 a path to the future they choose

When a girl returns to school, everything begins to shift.
She finds her voice.
She finds her confidence.
She finds possibilities she didn’t know existed.

And she finds her courage again — like Mary.

One week. One chance. Twice the impact.

If you can, please donate during Big Give Week to help unlock the full matched funding.

Your kindness will help ensure that no girl is turned away, and that 250 girls can stay in school next year — learning, growing and dreaming again.

Donate to day and your donation is doubled

Every donation is doubled until midday on 9 December.

Thank you for standing with girls in Kampala and for being part of a community that believes in their strength, safety and futures.
