Goodbye Regina (Jaja Gina)
Our hearts are broken, we've just lost a very special person, Regina Bayiyana, died in her sleep last night.
Her care for others and her drive for change, to make life better for everyone around her, children, grandchildren, neighbours and tirelessly seeking out those that needed help most, was our inspiration to start Awamu.
She stood up for what is right and inspired hope, love and community action in all around her, from her own home in Bwaise to the UK.
We miss you already and we will endeavour to live by your example. RIP Regina, we are so grateful we met you. You will always be the heart of our story ❤️
Our love to everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
